Video.. Bridge collapse in Genoa, Italy, dozens injured

Weather of Arabia - Dozens of people died and were injured in the collapse of a bridge that forms part of a highway in the Italian city of Genoa, on Tuesday, according to local authorities and media.

An Italian official said that at least 22 people were killed in the bridge collapse, with rescue operations continuing. The government said it feared a "catastrophic tragedy".

The highway collapsed at around 11:30 am local time (9:30 am GMT) during heavy rain as Genoa was hit by a strong thunderstorm.

And local media quoted the Italian ambulance service as saying that dozens of dead people are under the rubble of the bridge, which fell on a number of houses, according to "Sky News".
